Lockdown diaries
“If you don’t come out of this #Lockdown with: A New Skill, More Knowledge, Better Health & Fitness, you never lacked time. You lacked discipline.”
This is one way to motivate all of us by insulting it to the core or telling us that we can’t do certain things but is it always right? When was the time we were not asked to work harder? When was the last time we heard, its ok, relax and take a breather, You need rest? I guess never, right?
Though we are human, we are programmed to believe that we are always supposed to run else we will miss the bus and growth? But why are we always running? During school we were taught to work hard for exams instead of letting us play, then Board Exams, later professional exams, followed by work and so on never we were told you have entire life to run take a break and enjoy the moment. We are always forced to believe in one last push, one more day of hard work. Even during this pandemic this is what we are hearing that if we are not learning something new we are missing out on discipline.
Yes it is important to take maximum benefits of this lockdown and to the extent possible learn something new, may be new skill or disciplined routine but what if we cannot do anything? Can we consider healing as a part of requirement?
I feel, it is perfectly fine, we are human and we are living a life where we kept on running for since we first went to school. So during this pandemic it is not only earth that is healing but even we as a human are also healing. It is not that we should always work on sharpening a new skill or keep running in fact rest is also part of healing or sharpening skills.
Whether we will accept it or not but everyone of us deserved a good break, a complete rest and this is the few of the positives of pandemic. Take rest, enjoy time with family, spend time sleeping and doing nothing or do things what we were supposed to do since long but can never do due to constant running we were forced to participate since we were born so that we can get ready for race post lockdown, once again. Our life is a marathon and not a sprint and this pandemic is small break and not a last whistle to cross the finish line.
We have had habit of living it for tomorrow for years now. finally that tomorrow has arrived, though unexpected way but yes it is here. Enjoy till it last, we are going to run again once the lockdown is over.
